1Bottles and loose by volume
A branded perfume is counted in pieces. Loose attar or oil is counted in millilitres, with packages such as a 6 ml bottle or a 12 ml bottle. Because the base unit is ml, selling 8 ml out of a 100 ml stock reduces it by 8, with no fractions of a bottle to calculate by hand.
Stock value by group
Example
2High value, careful counting
One missing bottle can cost thousands. Record regular stock counts; any difference between the app and the shelf is entered as an adjustment with the quantity, and staff-entered changes can wait for the owner's approval. Stock history shows who changed what, which discourages mistakes.
Without a system
- Loose sales estimated
- Costly stock counted rarely
- Discounts given freely
With Dukaan POS
- ml tracked exactly
- Counts and adjustments with names
- Discount permission control
3Gift sets and bundles
Sets with a perfume, a deodorant and a pouch can be added as their own product. For festival bundles you assemble yourself, sell the items and take a bill discount, so the stock of each item stays right.

4Pricing and discount control
Set the price on each item and decide whether cashiers may discount. If you allow it only to yourself and the manager, customers who ask for a lower price get a consistent answer, and the profit report shows the margin you actually kept.
5Regulars and suppliers
Regular customers who buy on account get a khata page. Import suppliers can be entered with their balances and pay-by dates, with the bill number recorded on each delivery for reference.
6Testers and samples
Perfume shops give out samples and open testers. Record them as damage or as a sample adjustment with the quantity, so stock matches the shelf and the cost of sampling is visible. Over a month the figure shows whether sampling brings enough repeat sales to justify it, and gives you a number to discuss with the supplier about tester supply.
7Seasonal gifting
Eid, weddings and Valentine's bring gift buyers who want sets and quick advice. Stock the sets early, raise minimums on popular fragrances and use the bill discount for multi-item purchases. After the season, product sales shows which fragrances sold best so you can reorder with confidence for the next peak.
8Reports that matter here
Three reports are especially useful for a perfume counter. Stock valuation shows how much money sits in bottles. Product sales shows which fragrances earn the most. The stock history lists every adjustment with a name, which helps when a count does not match. Reading them monthly takes ten minutes and tells you whether stock is growing faster than sales.
