1From bill book to numbered bills
A paper bill book has three weak points: the carbon copy fades, a torn page cannot be recovered and nobody adds the pages up correctly at month end. In Dukaan POS every bill gets its own invoice number automatically, in order, and is saved with the items, quantities, prices, discount, amount paid and amount due. You can reopen any bill from the sales list weeks later.
From items to a saved bill
2What a bill contains
Each bill records the date, the customer (or Walk-in customer), every product with its quantity and price, the discount, the total, how it was paid and what is still owed. If the bill is part cash and part credit, both parts are visible. The cashier's name is saved too, so you can trace a bill back to whoever made it.
| Bill detail | Example |
|---|---|
| Items | 2 kg sugar, 1 tea pack, 3 soap bars |
| Discount | Rs 50 off the bill |
| Total | Rs 1,090 |
| Paid | Rs 600 by Easypaisa |
| Due | Rs 490 by 15 December |
Without a system
- Handwritten bills
- Totals added up by hand
- No copy kept
With Dukaan POS
- Clear printed bills
- Totals and change calculated
- Every bill searchable later
3Sharing bills instead of printing them
After saving a sale you can share the bill (for example by WhatsApp) or download it as a PDF. For many customers a message on their phone is easier than a slip of paper they will lose, and you keep a clear digital record of what you sent.
🧮 What does a discount cost me?
A discount comes straight out of profit, so it must be won back in extra sales.
4Bills that stay correct when things change
If a price was entered wrongly or a customer returns an item, you record a return or correction against the bill. The original is kept and the change is added as a linked entry, so the history of what happened is never erased. That protects you in a disagreement and makes month-end totals trustworthy.
5Daily totals without a calculator
Because every bill is saved as data, the day's total, the number of bills and the payment split between cash, bank and wallets are available immediately in the sales reports. You can choose any date range and download the result as PDF or CSV.
