Shop management software that runs your whole shop from one phone

Good shop management software replaces the notebook, the stock register, the udhaar khata and the calculator with one place that always agrees with itself. Dukaan POS does that for shops in Pakistan: every sale updates stock, credit, cash and profit at the same time, so the numbers you see at night are the ones that really happened.

1One shop, seven jobs

A shop owner is a cashier, a stock keeper, a debt collector, a buyer, a cash handler, an accountant and a boss, often before lunch. Here is how each job is handled when everything lives in one app.

2A day in a shop run on Dukaan POS

Here is what a normal day can look like for a general store with two staff.

  • Opening: the owner glances at the home screen: yesterday's sales, today's low-stock items and the money customers still owe.
  • Morning rush: the cashier sells retail from the phone at the counter. Every sale picks up the right price and reduces stock straight away.
  • Delivery at noon: the stock person records the supplier's goods as a purchase, enters what was paid and the date the rest is due.
  • Afternoon: a regular customer pays Rs 3,000 against an old balance. It is recorded in two taps and their balance drops.
  • Evening: the owner records a Rs 1,200 electricity expense, counts the drawer and compares it with the app's cash figure.
  • Closing: the daily report shows sales, expenses and profit for the day, ready to read or download as PDF.

Without a system

  • A calculator, a notebook and a diary
  • Stock counted by looking
  • Profit known at the month end, if at all

With Dukaan POS

  • Billing, stock, khata and staff in one place
  • Alerts for low and expiring stock
  • Profit and dues on demand

3Who can see and do what

Not everyone in the shop should see profit or change prices. Dukaan POS gives each person their own login with one of four roles: owner, manager, cashier or stock staff. A cashier can sell and take payments; stock staff can receive goods and request stock corrections, which the owner or manager approves; only the owner sees the profit reports and staff pay.

If a part of the app is not relevant to your shop, the owner can switch it off. A shop that never sells wholesale, or has no employees, can hide those sections so the screens stay simple. Changes are written to an activity history so you can see who did what.

🧮 Profit and margin calculator

Profit per unit

Total profit

Margin is profit as a share of the selling price. Markup is profit as a share of cost.

4What the home screen tells you

The first screen after login is a set of plain figures for today, yesterday, the last 7 days, 30 days or a year: sales and number of invoices, cash received, expenses, low-stock products, money customers owe you, money you owe suppliers, and gross and net profit. There is nothing to configure; the figures come straight from what you recorded.

For deeper questions there are reports for retail and wholesale sales, daily sales, product sales, customer and supplier dues, stock value and cash closing. Each can be downloaded as a PDF or CSV file to share with a partner or an accountant.

5Moving from the notebook without closing the shop

You do not need a quiet week to switch. A sensible order is: add the 30 products that make most of your sales, enter their current stock, add your regular customers with what they owe today, enter your opening cash and bank balances, then start selling in the app. Keep writing in the notebook for the first week if you want a safety net, then compare the two at closing time. New shops start with about 500 common grocery and household products already listed with Urdu names; you only switch on the ones you sell and set prices.

★Get started in four steps

  1. Create your shopSign up with a shop name and an owner login. Your 7-day trial starts straight away.
  2. Switch on your productsPick from the ready product list or add your own, and set retail and wholesale prices.
  3. Enter what you already haveAdd opening stock, opening cash and bank balances and what regular customers owe.
  4. Sell for a dayMake every sale in the app, then compare the closing cash and report with your notebook.

!Good to know before you start

  • Saving a sale needs an internet connection. Without one you can only look at products already loaded.
  • It manages the shop's own accounts and cash, but it is not full tax accounting and it does not file returns.
  • There is no barcode scanning and no link to the FBR system.
  • The app has an Urdu option for common screens and labels, and Urdu product names, but it is not a fully Urdu interface.

?Questions about shop management software

What is shop management software?

It is an app that keeps a shop's sales, stock, customer credit, supplier payments, cash, expenses and staff records in one place so that every number agrees. Dukaan POS is an example built for shops in Pakistan.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. It runs in your phone's browser and can be added to your home screen. It also works on tablets and computers.

Can my staff use it without seeing my profit?

Yes. Each person gets their own login and role. Cashiers and stock staff do not see profit reports or staff pay.

How long does it take to set up?

Creating the shop takes about a minute. Entering your first products, stock and balances usually takes a few hours for a small shop, and you can do it a little at a time while you keep selling.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, seven days with every feature switched on and no card needed. After that you pay by JazzCash, Easypaisa or bank transfer for a 1-month, 1-year or 5-year licence.
