1Made for thumbs
On a phone the app uses a bottom menu you can scroll sideways: Home, Sell, Stock, Sales, Suppliers, Money, Customers, Employees, Reports and More. The sell screen fills the whole display like a till, with category buttons, a search box and a bill panel that opens from the bottom. Inputs are sized so iPhone keyboards do not zoom the screen when you type.
Devices used to run a shop
Example set-up for a small shop
2Add it to your home screen
There is nothing to download from a store. Open the site in your phone's browser, choose Add to home screen, and it gets its own icon that opens full-screen like any other app. If you also use it on a tablet at the counter, sign in the same way.
Without a system
- A desktop PC fixed to the counter
- Owner blind when away
- Expensive hardware
With Dukaan POS
- Any phone or tablet
- Owner sees the day anywhere
- Hardware you already own
3What you can do from the phone
Everything the app does is available on a phone: sell retail or wholesale, take part payments, record a supplier delivery, receive money from a customer, add an expense, count cash, mark attendance and read reports. An owner can run most of the shop from a phone while away from the counter.
🧮 Profit and margin calculator
Margin is profit as a share of the selling price. Markup is profit as a share of cost.
4Phone and tablet working together
A common setup is a tablet at the counter for the cashier and the owner's phone for checking. Because both are signed in to the same shop, a sale made on the tablet appears on the owner's phone straight away, together with the new stock and cash figures.
5Data use and speed
The app loads a small set of files and fetches only the records you open, so it works on ordinary mobile data. You can see the speed for yourself during the free trial by selling on the connection you normally use at the shop.
6Using a phone at the counter
A few practical habits make a phone work well as a till. Keep it charged, with a screen that stays awake while you work. Use a stand or a case that holds it upright so you can use both hands for the goods. Keep a second device, even an old phone, as a spare. And have each staff member sign in on their own login, so you always know who made which sale.
★Get started in four steps

!Good to know before you start
