1The books write themselves
Every sale, purchase, expense, payment and salary you record updates the right balance. You never enter the same figure twice. A cash sale raises Cash; a supplier payment lowers Bank and the supplier's balance; an expense lowers the account it was paid from.

Without a system
- Slips in a shoebox
- Profit known once a year
- Accountant retypes everything
With Dukaan POS
- Records made as you sell
- Profit monthly
- PDF and CSV downloads
3End of day and end of month
At the end of the day, count the drawer and compare it with the book. At the end of the month, download the sales, expense and profit reports as PDF or CSV. These are the papers an accountant or a partner usually asks for, and you have them without retyping anything.
🧮 Stock value calculator
Shows the money sitting on your shelf at cost and at retail.
4Working with your accountant
If you file taxes through an accountant, give them the monthly CSV downloads and the dues lists. Dukaan POS does not prepare returns, so it replaces the shoebox of slips, not the accountant. Many accountants prefer clean exports to hand-written registers.
5Why simple beats complete
An accounting system you do not use is worth nothing. The point here is that the numbers exist because selling and buying create them, and they are right enough to run the shop on. Owners often find the first reliable net profit figure is the most useful thing they have ever seen about their business.
6Starting with opening balances
To begin, enter what your shop holds today: cash in the drawer, bank and wallet balances, what each customer owes, what you owe each supplier, and your stock quantities with their costs. It takes an afternoon the first time. From then on, every record is a change to those starting points, so the reports are right from the first week and you never need to rebuild old history to get a useful monthly view.
7Questions owners can finally answer
With records in place, the usual questions become quick lookups. Which month was best, and why? Is the wholesale side more profitable than retail? How much credit is outstanding, and is it growing? Can I afford to buy a bulk lot now, or should I wait for customers to pay? These answers come from the same reports, so decisions about stock, hiring and borrowing rest on figures, not feelings.
