1Bags and kilograms
Feed arrives in 25 kg and 50 kg bags and sells by the bag or loose by the kilo. Set kg as the base unit and add bag packages. A sale of two bags and 15 kg takes 115 kg from stock, with no manual conversion.
Farmer balances
Example dues
2Farmers on credit
Many farmers pay after selling milk, eggs or crops. Give each a customer page and record sales as credit with a due date. The dues report lists balances with the oldest dates first, and the page shows every bill and payment when a dispute arises.
Without a system
- Credit tracked by memory
- Bag and loose sales mixed up
- Old feed unnoticed
With Dukaan POS
- Farmer pages with due dates
- Bags and kg in one stock
- Date warnings
3Part payments and instalments
Record each payment as it arrives, with the account it went to. A farmer who pays Rs 20,000 against Rs 65,000 sees the remaining Rs 45,000 on the receipt, and you have the same figure in your records.
🧮 Customer balance calculator
Record each payment as it comes; the balance updates every time.
4Dates and spoilage
Feed, especially for poultry, can spoil or go stale. Enter the date shown on bags at delivery, and the warning appears a month ahead. Damp or damaged stock is written off, so the loss is visible and not buried in shrinking weight.
5Supplier mills and distributors
Feed mills deliver by the truckload on credit. Record each delivery with the bill number, the quantity in bags and what you paid. The supplier balance and pay-by date keep payments on time, which helps when mills allocate scarce stock.
6Seasonal demand and prices
Feed demand follows seasons: poultry cycles, fodder shortages and milk production patterns. Feed prices also move with grain markets. Record each delivery at its actual cost and adjust selling prices quickly. Reading last year's product sales for the same months helps you decide how much to stock before a busy period.
7Collecting on time
Farmers' payments often depend on their own sales. Record promised dates on their balance and review the dues report weekly. A friendly call a few days before the date works better than a demand afterwards. Keeping records clear and accessible makes these conversations easier and protects good relationships.
8Getting set up
Enter the feeds you sell with kilogram as the unit and the bag sizes you buy. Record opening stock from a count, then add your regular farmers with their balances and phone numbers. Each sale after that is recorded with the weight and the payment received, so by the end of the first month you know exactly what each farmer owes.
