1Know your total exposure
One number shapes how comfortable your cash position is: the total money customers owe you. It appears on the home screen as Money customers owe, and the customer dues report lists the people behind it, largest first. Watching that total month by month shows whether credit is growing faster than sales.

2Due dates turn credit into a schedule
Credit without a date drifts. Each credit sale can carry a due date, and each customer's page shows the earliest one. The alerts list credit due today, so the morning's calls are decided for you. A customer who pays on time is easy to spot, and so is one who is slipping.
Without a system
- No idea who is overdue until you flip pages
- Credit given on trust alone
- Collection happens when you remember
With Dukaan POS
- Overdue names listed with dates
- Balance visible before you give more credit
- A weekly follow-up routine
3Controls that you set with people, not code
The app does not set credit limits automatically; you do, in your own rules. What it does enforce is simple and useful: credit goes only to named customers, never to walk-ins; only the owner or manager can enter an opening balance; and every bill and payment is recorded with the person who made it. Pair this with your own limit written next to the customer's name.

4Read the age of the money
An overdue balance gets harder to collect with time. Use the dues report to sort balances into those within terms, a few weeks late and over a month late, and treat each group differently: a friendly reminder, a firm call, and a stop on new credit. The report shows the due date and the balance for each customer, so this takes minutes.
5A clean record when someone disputes a balance
Every credit bill, payment and correction stays on the customer's page, with dates and amounts. If a payment was recorded in the wrong place, a linked correction fixes it without erasing history.
6Putting the numbers to work each month
Once a month, look at three figures: the total owed to you, how much of it is past its due date, and how much was collected during the month compared with how much credit you gave. If you collected less than you gave, the pile is growing. Choose the two or three biggest overdue balances, decide a plan for each and write it down. Then decide whether any customer should move to cash-only until they clear their balance. The report gives you the facts; the decisions, and the polite conversations, are yours.
