1Many people, one shop
The owner, a manager and two cashiers can all be signed in at once. When a cashier sells the last carton of oil, the stock is lower for everyone at once, so the second counter does not sell what no longer exists.
Sales by cashier today
Example
2A name on every action
Sales record which cashier made them, stock changes record who entered them, and the owner can read an activity log of important actions. When something is wrong, you know who to ask and can do so without suspicion, because the record settles it.
Without a system
- One shared login
- Mistakes with no owner
- Everyone sees profit
With Dukaan POS
- Own login and role
- Every bill carries a name
- Costs and profit hidden from staff
3Roles keep sensitive figures private
Cashiers see prices and stock, not costs and profit. Stock staff can receive goods and propose counts, which a manager approves. Managers run the shop without seeing salaries. Details are on our user roles page.
🧮 What does a discount cost me?
A discount comes straight out of profit, so it must be won back in extra sales.
4Shift change and cash
Because sales carry the cashier's name, you can see each person's sales for a day from the reports. Combine this with the evening cash count to spot a till that is regularly short. It takes only a minute and settles most arguments.
5Adding and removing people
The owner adds a new user with a name, sign-in details and a role. When someone leaves, switch their account off and they lose access immediately, without a password change that everyone else must learn.
6Busy-hour tips
At rush hour, two counters can work side by side. Give each cashier their own device and login, keep the stock person off the till, and let the manager handle returns and price questions. Because everyone shares the same stock and customer balances, a credit sale entered at one counter shows at the other straight away. If a screen fails, the cashier signs in on another device and carries on with no data lost.
7What multi user does not mean
It is worth being clear about the edges. Several people can use one shop at the same time, but all of them work on the same stock and the same balances. That suits a shop with one location. If you run separate branches that each need their own stock, you would need a separate shop account for each, and the two would not share inventory or reports automatically.
