1A day on one screen
The home screen lets you switch between Today, Yesterday, the Last 7 days, 30 days, a year or all time. For the chosen period it shows sales and the number of invoices, cash received (sales plus old dues collected), expenses, low-stock items, the money customers owe, the money you owe suppliers, and gross and net profit.
Sales across a week
Example daily totals
2Sales is not the same as cash received
A shop that sells Rs 40,000 in a day may only receive Rs 31,000 in hand if Rs 9,000 went on credit. Dukaan POS keeps those two figures apart and also counts old balances customers paid that day. That is why the cash figure is a better guide to whether you can pay your supplier tomorrow.
Without a system
- Totals added at midnight
- Credit sales forgotten
- Cash that does not match
With Dukaan POS
- Daily sales report
- Credit shown separately
- Cash count recorded
3A 10-minute closing routine
- Open Today on the home screen and note sales, cash received and expenses.
- Count the drawer and compare it with the Cash balance.
- Record any expense you forgot, such as tea for staff or transport.
- Check the low-stock list and note what to order.
- Glance at who owes you and call anyone whose due date has passed.
Repeating this each evening turns random numbers into a habit and catches errors the same day, when memory is fresh.
🧮 Profit and margin calculator
Margin is profit as a share of the selling price. Markup is profit as a share of cost.
4Reports you can keep
For a record or a partner, the daily sales, retail and wholesale sales, product sales and expense summary reports can be filtered by date and downloaded as PDF or CSV. Product sales shows which items actually sold, which is useful when deciding what to restock.
5Spotting a bad day early
If a Tuesday is half the usual figure, the comparison shows up immediately. Having Yesterday and Last 7 days a tap apart means you notice drops, and rises, quickly enough to ask why: a stock-out, a competitor's offer, or a weather-related slow day.
6Turning the numbers into decisions
Figures matter only if they change what you do. If sales are strong but cash received is weak, you are giving too much credit. If cash is fine but profit is thin, check discounts and costs. If both are good but stock is often empty, you are losing sales you never see. Pick one question each week, answer it from the report and change one thing. Small, steady changes beat big resolutions.
★Get started in four steps
- Record every sale in the appThe daily figures are only as complete as the sales entered.
- Record expenses the same dayRent, transport and salaries go in as they happen.
- Close the dayRun the 10-minute routine above each evening.
- Review the weekOn a fixed day, compare the last 7 days with the week before.
!Good to know before you start
- Figures reflect what you record, so every sale and expense must be entered.
- Saving needs an internet connection.
- It reports on one shop; there is no multi-branch comparison.
- Profit depends on purchase costs being recorded.
