One design in eight sizes is eight products here. With a few dozen designs this is manageable; with hundreds it becomes heavy, and without barcode scanning or label printing every sale starts with a name search. Choose a variant-based system if your range is large.
1Naming for size
Use a fixed format: design, colour, size. Staff then search the design and see each size with its stock. The low-stock list shows exactly which sizes to reorder, which is the most useful output in this trade.

2Billing pairs
Each pair is a piece. Bills are quick by search, and discounts on a pair or the whole bill are available with permission control. Returns are recorded against the original bill, and stock goes back.
A good fit
- A few dozen designs
- Simple billing
- Clearance sales
Not a fit
- Hundreds of designs by size
- Size matrices
- Scanned labels
3Seasonal ranges
Eid, winter and school terms drive demand. Read last season's product sales, buy the sizes that sold, and clear leftovers with discounts. Stock valuation shows what is left at cost.
🧮 When should I reorder?
Reorder point = daily sales x delivery days + a safety buffer.
4Supplier accounts
Shoes arrive from factories and wholesalers, often on credit. Record each delivery with the bill number and payments, and keep pay-by dates visible.
5Wholesale
If you also sell to smaller shops, add a wholesale price and a khata for them. Their bills use the wholesale rate and their balance is visible in the dues report.
6Honest summary
Dukaan POS gives a small shoe shop clean billing, size-wise counts by naming and honest profit numbers. It does not give the variant grid or scanning big stores expect.
7A worked example
A sandal design comes in sizes 6 to 10 and two colours: ten products. The shop stocks four pairs of each. After the first weekend, sizes 7 and 8 in black have sold out. The low-stock list tells you precisely which to reorder. A year of these lists teaches you the size curve of your customers better than any guess.
8Pricing for clearance
When the season ends, group the unsold pairs, set a line discount and bill as normal. The profit report shows the margin on the clearance, and stock valuation shows how much cost remains. Many shops find that clearing early at a smaller discount beats waiting for a deep one.
9What to test in the free trial
Pick two designs and add every size as a product. Sell a few mock pairs, let two sizes fall to their minimum, and read the low-stock list. If the list tells you what you need to reorder, the method works for your shop. If you would need hundreds of such entries, plan for the effort or choose another system.
10Handling returns and exchanges
Wrong size returns are common. Record the return against the original bill so the pair goes back to stock and the refund matches what was paid, then bill the new size as a fresh sale. The history shows the exchange as two clear steps, which keeps counts and cash both correct.
