Stitching, measurements, fittings and made-to-order delivery dates are not supported. Dukaan POS records ready pieces, sales, advances and balances. If tailoring orders are the main part of your business, you will need to track them elsewhere.
1One piece, one record
Add each design as a product with its cost and price. A unique piece has a quantity of one; a popular design may have several. When it sells, it leaves stock, so the shelf and the book agree.
A reserved outfit
2Advances on occasion wear
Customers often reserve outfits for weddings with an advance. Record the sale with the advance, keep the balance on her page and take the rest at pickup. The record shows what she paid and when.
A good fit
- Ready pieces
- Advances and balances
- Client list
Not a fit
- Tailoring orders
- Measurements
- Made-to-order dates
3Client list
Keep names and phone numbers so you can recall past purchases when the next event arrives. A customer's page shows what she bought, which helps you suggest what is new.
🧮 Customer balance calculator
Record each payment as it comes; the balance updates every time.
4Pricing and discounts
Boutique pricing is flexible. Use a bill discount for a final price or for loyal clients, with permission limited to you or your manager. The profit report shows the margin you actually kept.
5Supplier and designer accounts
Pieces come from designers and workshops, sometimes on credit. Record deliveries with costs and payments, so you know what you owe and what each design earned.
6Honest limits
There are no variants, so a design in several sizes is several products. Because pieces are found by name, a clear naming habit matters. For a small boutique, that is manageable; for a large one, it is not.
7A worked example
A bridal outfit costs Rs 85,000 to buy and is priced at Rs 140,000. A client reserves it with Rs 50,000, pays Rs 50,000 a month later and the final Rs 40,000 at pickup. Her page shows each payment. The profit report counts the sale when it is billed, and the piece leaves stock only once.
8Building a client list
The most valuable asset in a boutique is its clients. Enter names and phone numbers as you bill and add a short note in the name field if useful. When a new collection arrives, you can contact those who bought similar pieces before. It takes seconds per client and pays back at each season.
9What to test in the free trial
Add five pieces, bill one with an advance, and open the client's page. Then bill the final payment and check the balance reaches zero. If your main need is tracking advances and clients, you will see the value quickly; if it is stitching orders, the app does not cover that.
10Reordering and sourcing
Track which designers and workshops produce the pieces that sell. Product sales and profit by piece show which suppliers deserve a larger order. For one-off pieces, the cost and selling price recorded at purchase give you the margin on each sale without any extra work.
