1Billing by weight
Almonds, cashews, pistachios and dates are sold loose. Type 250 g or 0.75 kg and the price follows the rate per kg. The cashier reads the weight from the scale and enters it; the app does the multiplication and takes the quantity from stock in kilograms, so there is no mental arithmetic at a busy counter.

2Prices that move
Dry fruit prices change with imports and seasons. Update the selling price on a product in seconds, and the next bill uses it. Your buying cost is updated by each purchase, so the profit report always reflects what the stock cost, not last month's rate.
Without a system
- Prices changed on a note
- Gift box profit unknown
- Old stock forgotten
With Dukaan POS
- Update the price in seconds
- Box profit visible
- Expiry warnings
3Gift boxes and mixed packs
Ramadan and Eid bring gift boxes. Create each box as a product with a set price. If you pack the contents yourself, record the nuts used as stock adjustments or treat each box as a purchased item; either way, the box's profit becomes visible, and you can see which sizes earned the most.
🧮 Profit and margin calculator
Margin is profit as a share of the selling price. Markup is profit as a share of cost.
4Expiry and storage
Nuts and dried fruit last for months but not forever. Enter expiry dates on delivery and the app warns you a month ahead. Damaged or spoiled stock is written off, so the loss appears in the report rather than staying hidden in a shrinking weight.
5Bulk buyers and hotels
Restaurants, sweet shops and event caterers buy by the maund-sized lot and pay later. Give them a wholesale price and a khata. Their dues appear in the customer dues report with due dates, which makes collection a weekly routine.
6Festival buying
Ramadan and Eid drive the largest sales of the year. Buy stock early when prices are lower, record each delivery with its cost and keep an eye on the total stock value so you do not overcommit cash. During the rush, keep the counter moving with quick weight entry and let a second cashier work on a separate device with their own login.
7Quality grades and pricing
Almonds, pistachios and dates come in grades with big price differences. Create a separate product for each grade, with its own cost and price, so profit is accurate and customers see what they are paying for. Mixing grades in one product hides the real margin and makes stock counts unreliable.
8What to check each month
Once a month, read stock valuation to see how much money is held in nuts and dates, read product sales to see the best sellers, and check the expiry warnings. Compare the cost of your most expensive lines with their sales. A pistachio lot that has not moved in two months should be priced to sell, not stored indefinitely.
